The Edge was developed with three main objectives in mind.  Speed in job, durability and Longevity.  The edge is a device that is attached to a trench machine whereas a Sprinkler pipe or cable is fed; The Edge creates the necessary opening allowing the Sprinkler pipe or cable to easily be laid.
